It celebrates a young woman’s magic and the gifts of listening, making, and dancing — and shares many of the special summer traditions of the Tlingit tribes, original people of the Northwest coast (now Alaska and British Columbia).
My kids read this time and time again during berry season. It makes going out to a big field of berries feel a little bit magic.
